Looking to volunteer in something that is a hard, meaningful, fulfilling experience?

We are looking for volunteers in the Galveston, Texas City, League City, Webster, Friendswood, Fuqua, Pasadena, Pearland, Houston, and Lake Jackson areas who are willing to sit with patients, families, and/or staff of the person who is coming to the end of their journey here on earth.

11th Hour Angels sit with those, and/or their family, as death is immenant. Sometimes famliy cannot be there and they don't want their loved one to be alone at the moment of death. Sometimes families are there, but they don't want to be alone. 11th Hour Angels are there to help.

What is involved? Simply sitting with the patient. Often times they are not conscious, or in and out of a sleep state. Sometimes it involves just being there. Sometimes the family would like the Bible, or other religious material meaningful to the patient and family, read. If family are present they just often want to share about their loved one who is dying. They will tell the person's life story or share meaningful events of their lives.

Intensive training is involved for those who have never been present, or have limited experience of being present, when someone takes their last breath.
