Alzheimer's Association offers a free Legal & Financial Planning program for families and individuals dealing with Alzheimer's or dementia. It's presented in two parts, typically an attorney and a financial planner.

We provide the program, you provide the experience and expertise. We need a volunteer to cover the financial portion. Ideally this person would deliver the program 4-6 times a year in New Hanover and/or surrounding counties either virtually and/or in-person.

When we return to full in-person programs, we hope to have a notary on-site so attendees could bring paperwork.

This is a very important service to these families and those diagnosed and not a huge time commitment. The Alzheimer's Association onboarding and training takes about 3-4 hours total and programs are about 2.5-3 hours with Q&A and potential travel time.

***This is listed as a virtual opportunity; the Association currently has a mask policy for in-person programs so they are limited right now.

*** We have an attorney in Wilmington trained to do the legal portion so we are recruiting for a financial planner to co-present in New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, Onslow and nearby counties.
