African Voices is seeking an experienced volunteer interested in designing an interactive Wordpress website for our online community of writers, artists and filmmakers. The project is to build an interactive website to present live events, video and multi-media content for African Voices' annual film program and live events. Have experience in customizing Wordpress templates to create a unique design experience. The goal is to have a membership-based platform where the organization can host live events + stream films. Must have 3 or more years experience in UI/UX design and have knowledge of WordPress development. Please email samples of your work with your resume.

Design an easy to use attractive platform for our members and film lovers to share and stream film from the palm of their hands and comfort of their homes. Bring the live experience and excitement of engaging the artists and audience members through a virtual platform.

By joining our volunteer team and creating opportunities for people around the world to view films from our festival - you will connect our online community and provide opportunities for independent artists.

Due to COVID-19, we are streaming a part of the festival and your contribution to this effort will help us at a time when resources are limited.

This is fun and engaging project. African Voices will provide Website Outline, Logos, Content & other project assets. The domain name and host are secured.

Once the website is completed - our festival team will plan an official launch event for our members and audience.





The website will include video and literary content as well as artistic features. Seeking someone who can create a free flowing, creative and youthful web design full of energy and color. The organization owns two other non-wordpress websites for its programs. Please e-mail at least 3 samples of Wordpress websites you have designed with references.

Founded in 1992, the organization publishes a national literary magazine and sponors community programs for emerging artists including literary readings, writers conferences and workshops, a film festival for women of color and other events. African Voices runs the Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series and Get Your Read On!, an arts literacy program for young people in low income communities.
