Telephone Reassurance Volunteer

Your calls will help convey the message that someone cares. Volunteers residing in Clearfield County will make daytime phone calls to the caregivers of area older adults who are homebound or isolated. This program targets the caregivers of the elderly who are trying to remain independent and need support services to do so. Our consumers willl feel conforted by knowing that someone will be calling to check in on a regular basis. Each volunteer will be matched with a telephone friend primarily based on scheduling and location to avoid long distance call charges. Volunteers may elect to call more than one telephone friend. The Volunteer Center of Clearfield County (VCCC) provides opportunities for people to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. Sponsored by the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc., VCCC is dedicated to making a difference in our community through volunteer service. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, environmental organizations, nursing/personal care homes, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. VCCC offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. VCCC matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
