Girls on the Run (GOTR) York, an affiliate of the YWCA York, is NOW seeking Volunteer Coaches to mentor and inspire girls in grade 3 - 8 across York County for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Coaches are needed to serve at local elementary/middle schools or community settings 2 afternoons per week for 12 weeks during the Fall and/or Spring seasons. Coaches will work with 8 -15 girls, leading interactive lessons with experience-based activities while building a foundtation of confidence, diversity, compassion, health, and so much more in their lives. During the 12-week program, girls will also complete a community service project directed by the coaches and train to run a celebratory 5K at the season's end. Together all GOTR York girls will run together with their running buddies and cross the finish line to a future of self-respect and healthy living. GOTR York is looking for Head Coaches (Females, age 21 and up), Assistant Coaches (Male/Female, ages 18 and up) and Junior Coaches (Females ages 16-18). Training, full program materials, and curriculum are provided. Appropriate clearances and volunteer forms are also required by GOTR York. Coaches Do NOT have to be runners because we are NOT a running program. We are so much more! For more information, contact Tara Neff, Tneff@ywcayork.orgor (717) 845-2631, 130. To register to be a coach in the upcoming season, please go to ywcayork.org/GOTR.
