Therapeutic Riding

We are looking for someone with experience searching and applying for grants and sponsorships to help us find funding for our Equine Asssisted Therapeutic programs. This Grant Guru could work from our office in Shadow Hills, or from home, and would be responsible for researching grants that we may be eligable for, as well as applying for them, and looking into corporate sponsorships and donations for events, programs and supplies. These funds would help to support our hard working horses, children with special needs, veterans, at-risk youth, people on the path to sobriety and so much more!

Mission Statement

The mission of Shadow Hills Riding Club is to implement an expansive therapeutic equine program using horses to facilitate healing, learning and growth.

Description

The vision of SHRC is to provide exceptional equine programs to facilitate growth and healing through self-actualization and awareness resulting in healthier lives for individuals and their communities.
As a mission, SHRC transforms lives by unbridled possibilities through the healing art of the equine.

SHRC goes above and beyond in an effort to serve the surrounding communities, working for people in need whether it is physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual maladies. SHRC has not, nor will not limit its services to only a few, but keeps all doors (including stall doors) open to all those in need.

Shadow Hills Riding Club serves people of all ages (4-94), genders, ethnicity and race. Programs are provided for but not exclusive to therapeutic riding, at risk youth, veterans, autistic teens and people in recovery. SHRC has a hearing impaired riding group and a women’s Equine Assisted Psychotherapy empowerment group. SHRC shows at local Cal-Net events and provides year - round lessons which are available, weather permitting. We operate six days a week, four-six hours per day. SHRC has 12 horses in the program, 10 of which are registered AQUA. We have an average of 40 clients each month, a 70% return rate for continuing clients, with aproximately 150 clients per annum. Populations served in the past include but are not limited to clients with; cerebral palsy, autism spectrum, hearing impaired/deaf and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
