ORGANIZATION: Sound Generations

Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.

As a Volunteer Co-Coordinator you would work with the current Volunteer Coordinator, supporting our wonderful team of volunteers and assist with various office tasks that keep Meals on Wheels humming along on schedule. Availability Tuesday mornings from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Training for this position is provided. We are looking for someone interested in volunteering longer term.

Qualities sought in Meals on Wheels volunteers: Commitment to the well-being of elders, good communication skills, reliability, flexibility, attention to detail, resourcefulness, and good cheer.

Requirements: Complete the Meals on Wheels Volunteer Application, consent to a Washington State Patrol background check, the ability to lift 15 pounds, and be age 21 or more.

Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
