Are you looking for ways to help families experiencing homelessness in Montgomery County? Volunteer with Inter-Faith Housing Alliance!
Inter-Faith Housing Alliance provides families with children in crisis housing and supportive services. The Inter-Faith campus in Ambler houses eight transitional housing apartments, a Day center for shelter families, children’s room, food pantry, conference room, playground, gardens and staff offices. Volunteers are always needed to assist us on our campus with sorting food and household donations, tracking the inventory of donations, performing light maintenance on our building, landscaping and playground clean-up, tending the gardens and office work.
We welcome individuals and families, and groups including religious organizations, local businesses, service clubs and small school groups.

Description
Since 1982, Family Promise Montco (formerly Inter-Faith Housing Alliance) has provided food, housing and supportive services to families in crisis in Montgomery County. Family Promise provides programs that are designed to provide families with the tools they need to become financially stable and self-sufficient - and thus lift families out of poverty and break the cycle of homelessness. Our community food pantry in Abington serves on average 100 residents per month. In 2013, over 1,100 requests for food were filled. Family Promise operates an emergency shelter program for families experiencing homelessness and provides safe, affordable rental apartments in Hope Gardens, the transitional housing program. The demand for our services is growing, particularly as families with children are increasingly the largest sector of the homeless population. Volunteers are a vital part of the success of our programs.
