Become a Ombudsman Volunteer and help us uphold the rights of residents across our county.

Did you know that 60% of seniors living in care facilities NEVER have visitors? Volunteer Ombudsman are resident advocates who visit seniors in care facilities (Nursing Homes and Personal Care Homes) in Armstrong County. As a volunteer, you are not just a friendly visitor, but someone who ensures that the resident's rights are being upheld.

Your initial training is provided by the Pennsylvania Long-Term Care Ombudsman Office and through Aging Services. Volunteers have the opportunity to attend a variety of trainings throughout the year.

Armstrong County Area Agency on Aging is committed to plan, organize, convene, program, and fund, where possible, quality services, preserving the dignity and rights of older adults and advocating for their diverse needs.


The Armstrong County Area Agency on Aging provides services for Armstrong County residents primarily age 60 and over, governed by the Older Americans Act and in accordance with the Pennsylvania Departament of Aging regulaiton.
