In October 2012, Superstorm Sandy made landfall in New York and New Jersey. Its impact was monumental - over 100,000 residences were damaged or destroyed, and up to 2,000,000 people were left without power during the harsh weather conditions. Hundreds of lives were lost. SBP focuses on the most vulnerable portions of disaster-impacted communities. Our clients are low- to moderate-income residents, and consist of families with small children, the elderly, disabled persons, veterans, and under- and uninsured persons. Thousands of local residents have been affected by Sandy's destruction. Volunteering is a rewarding way to support these struggling communities. All skill levels are welcome!
