We need volunteers to visit with our patients in their homes or at their nursing facilities to listen, talk, read, sing, act, play games, provide light housekeeping or meal prep, run a few errands, provide respite to caregivers, etc. The sky truly is the limit in how you can be a healing presence with our clients and their families, and the everlasting connection you make with them will be carried with them, their families, and you.
This service provides a multitude of opportunities to get involved and to honor and serve those when they are near the end of their time here. If you are interested in this opportunity, please be sure to leave your phone number in your message to us so we can contact you as soon as possible.

We will treat the disease process with medical expertise while emphasizing quality living, not only physically, but also psychosocially, emotionally and spiritually. Description
Hospice care is the duty to honor and respect the wishes of those coming to the end of their lives while supporting their families and friends through the process. Our job is a sacred one, one which we view as a privilege. The Altus Hospice staff has a duty to treat each individual under our care, as well as our fellow team members, with the utmost respect, while honoring each individual’s choices and core values. To that end, we will listen intently, respond accordingly and serve humbly our patients and families. Altus is very tied to the communities it serves and has a sincere interest in caring for the patients and families of all those it services.
Altus Hospice has nurses, social workers and chaplains available to their clients throughout this critical time of need. In addition, our bereavement coordinators are available for an additional 13 months after a loved one has passed. When choosing Altus, anyone can be assured their loved one is receiving exactly what they need, when they need it.
