At the Mental Health Center of Denver (MHCD) our mission is "enriching lives and minds by focusing on strengths and well-being." We focus on what people can do, not what they can't. And we provide innovative treatment that matches the needs of our consumers.
One of our programs is a horticultural therapy program for children and youth with mental illness and/or juvenile justice system involvement. Our gardens, farms, and aquaponics are in need of some care to prepare them throughout the year. We welcome community groups interested in creating a half-day work event to amend soil, plant seedlings, and other activities. We can provide gloves and tools for volunteers. Our locations are at 3401 Eudora St., and near Federal and Colfax.
