Fondy Food Pantry "Food for Thought" Driver/Loader Volunteers are needed to load packed bins of food bags into their vehicle (van or truck) and together, with a student from the "Wings" program at FDL High School, transport the food to one of our local elementary schools and unload it at the school. The volunteer is needed Thursday mornings between 9:00am and 11:00am starting the last week in September and continuing through the school year. The "Food for Thought" program provides nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks to over 400 elementary school age children on holidays and weekends throughout the school year.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for individuals age 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers choose when, where and how long they would like to serve at schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while they serve. There is a pre-service orientation, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
