Summary:

You don't need a hammer, hard hat and construction boots to build homes with Flower City Habitat for Humanity (FCHH)! Come lend a hand in Habitat’s front office; our hub for customers, volunteers, homebuilding and ReStore information.

At Habitat, our volunteers make it happen. Each volunteer’s efforts play a role in raising the roof of Habitat homes. Right now, we're looking for regular volunteers to provide support and leadership in the area of office administration. Volunteers can count on shadowing and asking questions until they are comfortable working on their own.

Ample training will be provided as needed.

Volunteer Activities:

• Answer phones, answer questions, transfer calls
• Greeting of FCHH office visitors, walk-ins and assist office staff where necessary
• Assist with filing, copying, scanning and general administrative or office needs
• Assist with receiving, sending and sorting of mail
• Use the FCHH database for data entry and clean-up
• Create and maintain hard copy and electronic filing system as requested
• Assist other FCHH departments and staff as needed
• Helping to keep the front office, kitchen/break room, printer and conference rooms clean and organized as necessary
• Assisting with FCHH committee and FCHH Board requests
• Assist with the training of new office volunteers as required

Volunteer Requirements:

• 18 Years of age or older
• Available a minimum of 4 hours per week and on-call if necessary
• Strong customer service skills
• Proficiency with the Internet, Word, Excel & Outlook and general computer & printing skills
• Order and database entry skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• High attention to detail
• Willingness to help FCHH maintain its Vision and strive to meet its Mission objectives

Desired Position Fill Date:

Needed ASAP for Thursdays, Morning and Afternoon needed and Fridays, afternoons needed through at least March 2022.

Time Commitment:

We have two shifts available which run from 9AM-1PM & 1PM-5PM We are in immediate need for volunteers.
