AlterMed Research Foundation supports holistic health education, research and patient access of evidence-based integrative medicine and complementary & alternative medicine. Imagine someday all cancer and chronic illness can be prevented and/or cured via integrative approaches (bridging evidence-based holistic medicine and conventional medicine).
AlterMed is looking for a WordPress website designer, who is passionate about human health / healthcare / wellness, who has designed website(s). We need a major refresh of our current website and create a new one with a current professional-looking WordPress theme and also make the required updates to the pages' content, and maintain the new website over time. This person must be detailed oriented and accurate with data and information provided. We seek a website designer who has a balance of technical skills to manage the technical content as well as a sense of aesthetics of the website pages to communicate an inspired / healthful feel. Prefer candidates to have a bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree or certificate in a technology-related subject, preferably be in website design, graphics design, and / or computer science. Other relevant skills and qualifications:
- Must skills:
WordPress website design / edits experience (please provide web URLs you designed / maintained)
Good visual design sense - balance webpage information content with aesthetics
Experience in responding well to management and staff update requests
Willing to be mentored - Would be nice to have skills:
HTML, CSS, and PHP
Understanding of UX/UI (user experience/user interface) design
Knowledge of SEO (search engine optimization)
Experience with graphics design, design software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop)
Must pass a background check.
