Mission Statement

South County Outreach is a nonprofit organization committed to preventing hunger and homelessness in Orange County by helping people in need help themselves.

Description

South County Outreach (SCO), founded in 1989, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing homeless prevention services to low-income individuals and families in crisis in South Orange County.

Through a variety of programs, South County Outreach gives families in need the help they need and the tools to become self-sufficient. Our Food Pantry distributes nearly one million pounds of emergency, non-perishable and fresh food to an average of 9,000 families annually. Our housing programs provide subsidized housing and professional case management services to local families who are homeless or on the verge of being homeless. Our Computer Learning Lab teaches more than 600 students annually who are unemployed and underemployed to improve their skills and increase job opportunities.

We are a volunteer-based organization with over 250 regularly scheduled volunteers and 1,500 occasional volunteers that help throughout the year.
