Volunteers at the Fort

Guest Services members are critical to the overal operation of the Museum as they are generally the first point of contact with visitors from around the world

  • Greet visitors and provide them with brief over view of services provided by museum
  • Greet, check in and orient tour groups
  • Check in and orient reenactor when arriving for living history weekends
  • Assist with ticket sales
  • Assist with gift shop sales

To professionally collect, preserve and authentically interpret both physical and intellectual resources which provide an educational understanding and appreciation for the 18th century heritage of New England and especially the Connecticut River Valley.

Description

A reconstruction of the original fortified portion of Charlestown (nee Number 4) The Fort at No. 4 is an Open Air/Living History Museum whch focuses on civilian life in the Upper Connecticut Valley during the Colonial and Early Federal Eras. The Museum uses tge lens of this early period to engender a greater understanding of contemporary life.
