Volunteer behind the scenes at the our Quincy Animal Care and Sea Turtle Hospital Facility! Assist our Environmental Quality Lab staff in collecting and analyzing water samples, gaining valuable practical experience in analytical techniques and lab management. If you have a foundational knowledge in chemistry and biology, a willingness to learn, and are at least 18 years old, apply now and contribute to the health and well-being of our aquatic residents!

This position is not located in Boston and is at our Animal Care Center located along the Fore River in Quincy. Transportation to this facility is easiest by car but one can also reach the facility by public transportation. Public transportation requires taking the Redline to Quincy Center, transferring to bus, and walking about 5 minutes.

Description

The mission of the New England Aquarium is to increase understanding of aquatic life and environments, to enable people to act to conserve the world of water, and to provide leadership for the preservation and sustainable use of aquatic resources.

This mission is fulfilled through exhibits, and through education, conservation and research programs. Exhibits showcase the diversity, importance and beauty of aquatic life and habitats, and highlight critical aquatic conservation issues. Programs emphasize species, habitats, and issues critical to New England.
