The Special Olympics Five Valleys Area is looking for a volunteer with a passion for working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities to help them achieve their dreams of being the voice of Special Olympics Montana. We are looking for a volunteer who can help coordinate the Athlete Leadership Program in the Missoula and surrounding Area. Special Olympics provides a lifetime of experiences to individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports training and competition, but as athletes mature, they seek new challenges and new ways to utilize the wisdom that comes from life as a Special Olympics Athlete. Our Athlete Leadership Program matches volunteer mentors with athletes who wish play a bigger role within the Special Olympics movement as board members, spokespeople, team captains, coaches, and officials. The Athlete Leadership Program Coordinator works directly with athletes served through Special Olympics to help elevate the voice of the athletes we seek to recruit and retain throughout the years. Volunteers must be enthusiastic about working with diverse groups and be willing to participate in training requirements through the Athlete Leadership Program. Think big, dream big, believe big, and the results will be big. Become part of the Special Olympics movement and help the athletes achieve their dreams.
