We could use help on trail maintenance - mainly on the summit trail. Groups can come out to do trail work on Saturdays between April 7th and November 10th (excluding June 23 and September 8). Please contact the park to sign your group up. We provide tools. Please bring work gloves, water, snacks, and wear closed toed work boots or shoes. We will show you how to repair the trail. No experience is necessary. Hundreds of volunteers helped construct our summit trail that visitors say is one of the best hiking trails in the area. If your group would really like to help out, but can't make it on a Saturday, please contact the park to work out a special date.

Description
Elk Knob State Park is a 4300 acre park with hiking trails, camping, and a picnic area. Free public nature programs are given weekly and upon request. We montitor plant and animal species and manage exotic/invasives. We work with outside organizations to provide a variety of outdoor experiences to the public.
