This is a exciting and rewarding opportunity - with every animal you foster, you are saving a life!! We are NYC-based 501(c)(3) all-volunteer rescue organization. We do not have a shelter and rely on foster parents for our rescued cats until they are adopted. The foster can be long-term or short-term; large, small, adult, senior or kitten. You can determine specific timeframe and specific animal you would like to foster. You will need to complete a foster application, have two references and submit to a home visit check. We are looking for fosters in the tri-state area.

Must be 23 and over and have the agreement of all members of the household.

For more information about the fostering process and to see our available pets, please visit our website - http://bighandslittlepaws.org/become-a-foster-parent/

Mission Statement

Big Hands Little Paws is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in response to the plight of homeless, abused, neglected and abandoned animals. Our goal is simple: improve the lives of animals by providing direct care, feeding and sheltering, facilitating fostering and adoption and partnering with businesses, organizations and individuals who support us in our mission. We also believe education is essential in ending this plight and aim to educate and bring awareness to our communities through various programs.

Description

Big Hands Little Paws was created after the founders realized the extraordinary number of homeless and abused cats and dogs in the Greater New York City area. BHLP understands the plight of these animals cannot be corrected with one narrow step - it takes a broad approach to end this suffering. We have developed an all-encompassing plan to effectively combat this devastating problem and we are building a volunteer staff to create and implement programs to tackle this, which includes rescue, rehabilitation, adoption and education.
