A Mentor is an experienced, positive adult who is willing to support and encourage a youth in the DCF Foster Care System. The Mentor is a "trusted guide, tutor and life coach." A Mentor will listen, educate, and provide constructive role modeling for a child during an otherwise confusing stage in a youth's growth.

We serve low income individuals and families from Tolland and Windham Counties. At the core of the Access mission is our belief in the dignity and value of every individual, regardless of social or economic status. We take a comprehensive approach to looking at the poverty-related issues of individuals and families and then develop individualized plans to help our clients overcome the challenges they face. In this manner we are able to help our clients achieve lasting economic independence and self-sufficiency.

Description

The Access Community Action Agency welcomes the assistance of members of our community in its mission to create opportunities that empower people and communities to achieve and sustain economic stability. We are pleased to engage individuals, organizations, school groups, interns, and more.
