Are you seeking a bragging-rights-worthy volunteer opportunity that's one of the most fun way to meet people from around the world? Please contact us to launch the simple process.
Thanks to our devoted volunteers, the Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum is now open to the public every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (for 3 hour volunteering sessions,) so we need enthusiastic docent/tour guides on those days (plus occasional help welcoming visitors to Poe-related events on random evenings and daytimes.)
The greatest need is on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:30am-1:30pm and/or 1:15-4:15pm shifts. (You sign up online-it’s a cinch!) We'd love if you'd commit to a regular weekly schedule, though that's not necessary: if you'd like to come in once a month, then that will also work for us!
We’ll also need help on occasional special weekdays, plus special evening and about town events. Or share your skills in other ways.
Our way of thanking you includes offering free or vastly discounted tickets to events around town, welcoming you to special volunteer-only events, and showing our appreciation every time you visit.
So please join our Poe-fect team of volunteers for a ravin’ good time, fill out our online volunteer application: https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?AP=908440089
Plan to bring your enjoyment of other people and joy of learning-- and no worries-- no special "Poe knowledge" is required (and you'll learn a LOT as you go, regardless of how much you know at the start.)
We’ll follow-up with details once we're in touch, and welcome you for a 'test session’ to see how you like the experience. so please feel free to join the fun.
Please ask if you have any questions...hope to hear from you soon!
