Make a positive difference in the community by helping a senior who can no longer drive. As a volunteer driver escort, you would use your own car to take seniors to and from medical appointments, Surrey-sponsored activities or grocery store trips. 90% of the trips are doctor appointments which are critical. This is a very flexible volunteer opportunity. As a volunteer driver escort, you can choose the assignment based on your familiarity with the area. Surrey staff will coordinate convenient times within your schedule. Enjoy one-on-one time chatting with the senior!

Surrey brings people and resources together, creating a vibrant community of older adults. We offer programs and services that help older adults remain safe and engaged in our community including:

  • Activities, exercise, clubs, lunch, and lectures at any Surrey center - Devon, Broomall, Havertown, or Media.
  • Nutritious meals available in-person or Grab and Go Monday-Friday at Devon, Havertown, and Media and Tuesday and Thursday in Broomall.
  • Transportation services, fee-based and free, provided by volunteers, Surrey Drivers and through partnerships with ROVER (Chester County) and DELGO Community Transit (Delaware County)
  • Home care services including RN Care Management for help with medication management and care; personal care for help bathing and dressing; and Personal Finance Management for help with bills, insurance claims, and long-term care policies.
  • Opportunities to downsize and consign with the Surrey Consignment Shop.
  • Free instruction, support, and hands-on training for family caregivers and aspiring caregivers at The Surrey Academy.
