The Volunteer Youth ESL Instructor/Tutor will be responsible for implementing ESL learning situations tailored for newly arrived refugee families who have been in the United States for six months or less. The overall goals of these ESL activities are to 1) enhance family social skills, 2) increase English language communication skills, and 3) enhance readiness for employment Activities will be targeted in the Philadelphia areas where refugees reside, particularly northeast Philadelphia. Sites will generally be at the local libraries.
