About

Project LETS (www.LetsEraseTheStigma.com) is a non-profit organization working on a local and national level to support and ensure the civil rights of mentally ill folks (or folks whose experiences are often classified as mental illness) through peer-led communities, advocacy efforts, and political change.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated young adults (17-25) to take shifts volunteering for our Crisis Line. The Project LETS Crisis Line works through link on our website, where the user will be connected with a LETS Peer Mental Health Advocate (PMHA). You can access this interface through the LiveChat app (on a mobile device or computer). Through this, you will receive a notification when a user has initiated the chat. You will be able to see their location, name and e-mail. Your chats will always be supervised by a veteran LETS PMHA, so if you need to transfer for support, no worries!

After training, you will also get access to a Google Drive including information on: alternatives and distractions, anxiety disorders, binging, coping with flashbacks, cycles of depression, fading and covering scars, grounding techniques, how to care for a burn, how to care for cuts, what to do if someone is triggered, managing stress, meditation, panic disorder, PTSD, reasons for recovery, suicidal thoughts, what to say when someone sees, and what to say for a suicidal chat. These resources will be downloadable, and always yours to keep.

You will be trained through a website interface + by the staff of Project LETS. This is a virtual opportunity, and you can volunteer from anywhere in the world!
