Greenway Network's Mission: Clean Stream 2011
Just a few of our volunteers.

Mission: Clean Stream and GM Earth Day---Two Great Events. One Great Day EVERYONE can make a difference when it comes improving our environment. GM Earth Day is the place to learn how. Mission: Clean Stream is an easy way to do it. April 4, 2020 is when it all happens. GM Earth Day: Come early to the festival at Rotary Park in Wentzville if you want to see the mission clean stream workers off. Explore work by local artisans.

Learn how to get connected to, and preserve nature with activities like making up-cycled crafts, exploring a model stream and seeing how pollution moves into our rivers and streams. Also on hand will be vendors, and organizations that can help you or your family make a real difference in the world.

There will also be plenty of hands-on activities with a particular emphasis on keeping very young children occupied while their older siblings are out on the creek. New this year is the Green Heroes program. Kids can earn a very special award by learning about the environment at the festival. Mission: Clean Stream: Volunteers from St. Charles County and the communities of Cottleville, Dardenne Prairie, Lake St. Louis, O’Fallon, St. Charles, St Peters and Wentzville join with Greenway Network to remove trash from local streams and lakes.

Mission: Clean Stream started as a joint effort to pick up litter from publicly accessible creek areas. Today, Mission: Clean Stream has evolved into a challenge, or charge, for thousands to do some serious damage to the amount of trash in waterways across the county in just two hours. If you want to participate contact Greenway Network: greenwaynetwork@gmail.com or call 636-498-0772

Mission Statement

Greenway Network is a grassroots, volunteer based organization. Our mission is to conserve natural resources, encourage sound management of the watersheds and protect the quality of life for the residents of the greater St. Louis area.

Description

Our Mission is to conserve natural resources, encourage sound management of the watersheds, and protect the quality of life for the residents of the St. Louis Metro area. We do that by creating a network of communication and consensus among citizens, government leaders and other organizations that share our goals. Most of all, we encourage everyone to 'act locally' to make it happen.

Our region is rich in water resources and native wildlife habit. It is a land of abundant river bottoms, fragile wetlands, tranquil riparian woods, and rolling hillsides along soaring bluffs. But, our region is also one of the fastest growing areas in the Midwest. Our western area population has more than doubled in the last twenty years!

We believe people can live in harmony with nature if we plan and make decisions wisely. Greenway Network is your "eyes, ears, and voice" in that process, working to conserve what is naturally best about the St. Louis Metro area.

We sponsor St. Charles County Mission: Clean Stream and Race for the Rivers.

We support Missouri Stream Team by performing water quality testing, removing invasive species, and restoring riparian areas of our streams by planting trees, shrubs and grasses.

We participate in Public Lands Day and help develop parks and trails.

We provide environmental education presentations to the public and in our schools.
