By becoming a mentor with Uncommon Good's Connect to College Mentoring Program, you can become friends with a 9-14 year old boy or girl who needs the support and encouragment of a positive role model to become successful. The children in our program are from low-income families, and are considered at risk. They need someone like you to keep them on track so they stay in school, go to college and break the cycle of poverty. You don't have to be a superhero to be a Mentor. You just have to spend about two hours a week being friends with a child. It's easy and it's fun! All it takes is sharing everyday experiences and a combination of no and low cost activities that are fun, educational, cultural, or all three.
