It’s easy to make a big difference in a child’s life. Our students need someone like you to believe in their potential. All it takes is sharing everyday experiences and a combination of no and low cost activities that are fun, educational, cultural, or all three. These could be activities such as exploring college campuses, going to the park, playing sports, visiting museums or just about anything else you can think of! It’s easy and it’s fun and best of all, you’ll have a positive impact on a child’s life...and in your own life .

About Uncommon Good
Location:
211 W. Foothill Blvd, Claremont, CA 91711, US
Mission Statement
The mission of Uncommon Good is to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty and to work for the restoration of our planet. These two goals are intertwined, since the alleviation of poverty depends upon having a healthy earth with enough resources to support everyone. We accomplish these goals by helping underprivileged children succeed in school and go to college, by supporting young doctors who are bringing health and wellness into underserved communities, and through a variety of environmental initiatives.
Description
Our vision at Uncommon Good is to live in a community where every child, regardless of ethnicity or socio-economic status has access to a meaningful college education. To bring that vision into reality, the Connect to College Mentoring Program provides low income students in 4th - 12th grades who reside in the Pomona Valley with mentors who help them envision themselves in college, tutors to help them stay on track, college access through our high school scholars program, and real world learning experiences through our agriculture initiative. Our goal is to increase academic achievement and college access for our students by providing them with adult role models, supportive services, and educational opportunities.
