It's flexible! We'll work with your schedule.

7 Jason StreetArlington, MA 02476

The "Jason Russell House" is operated by the Arlington Historical Society, and is the site of the bloodiest fighting during the first day of the American Revolution, April 19 th 1775. Guides are needed to provide tours for visitors to this important piece of American History. If you are interested in a fun and rewarding opportunity in the Arlington area, consider volunteering as a guide. All training is provided, including information about the history of the home as well as information about colonial life. All guides work in pairs, so new volunteers have a mentor to support them. Volunteers with diverse backgrounds are encouraged. Volunteers can work as many or as little sessions as they wish. Hours are Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A training session is being offered Saturday, April 1, 2017. The session will include a tour of the house, information and background on the Russell Family and the events of April 19, 1775, and chance to meet and socialize with like-minded volunteers. If interested, contact the Society office by emailing guides@arlingtonhistorical.org. A makeup session will be available for those who cannot make the April 2 training.
