Volunteer Guides Needed at Jason Russell House in Arlington

The Arlington Historical Society is seeking guides at the Jason Russell House, 7 Jason St., for the 2023 season. An 18th Century dwelling furnished with artifacts reflecting the life of a typical Colonial farm family, the house is also the site of the bloodiest battle during the British retreat from Concord and Lexington on April 19, 1775.
Guide training is provided on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. until 4:30p.m., including information about the history of the house as well as information about the events of April 19, 1775. All guides work in pairs, so new volunteers have a mentor to support them. Volunteers from diverse backgrounds are encouraged. Hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. from June through October. Guides serve approximately six times during the season by signing up for their choice of dates.
