The Department of Volunteer Services of Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center is expanding our program known as Acoustic Remedies. Amateur and professional musicians share their passion for music by playing music in a one-on-one type setting (i.e. patient rooms) OR in a lobby setting with a larger audience. The Acoustic Remedies program aims to use music to help enhance recovery and clinical outcomes as well as achieve specific goals by helping patients forget about their illness, pain and the hospital environment, and focus on their favorite musical genres. Our musicians have touched the lives of many patients, family members, visitors and staff.

All musical instruments will be considered (we have a baby grand piano in our lobby). Musicians must be able to play 3 - 5 music pieces proficiently in a one-on-one type setting (i.e. patient rooms) OR proficiently play approximately one hour of continuous music in a lobby setting.

We want to encourage talented and willing musicians to share their passion for music by joining our Volunteer Team and becoming part of Acoustic Remedies.
