Come help over 2200 Girls on the Run participants, plus over 3000 community runners complete a 5K in Vasona Park on Saturday, May 18, 2019! We need 250 volunteers to help the girls run the race safely, hand out water, mardi gras beads, cheer them on and enjoy the party after the run. Your time at the 5K makes it possible for these 2200 3rd-8th grade girls accomplish their goal of completing a 5K after 10 weeks of training. We cannot do it without you!

Girls on the Run is a life-changing, social-emotional learning program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. Our mission is to inspire and empower girls to live joyful, confident, and healthy lives. Our proven, research-based curriculum creatively uses running as a tool to teach life skills that increase confidence, critical-thinking, and conflict-resolution skills.
Description
Girls on the Run of Silicon Valley (GOTRSV) was founded in 2002, the first Girls on the Run council in California. Over the past 19 years, GOTRSV has impacted more than 20,000 girls in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties.
The Girls on the Run curriculum is one of only three after-school programs recognized by the Harvard Graduate School of Education as a top social-emotional learning (SEL) experience for kids.
