Senior Roll Call Lifeline
Saving lives for over 20 Years!

Are you a morning person? Enjoy helping People? We need your help....Senior Roll Call Lifeline is a Free telephone reassurance program provided by New Castle County Police. Daily, computer-generated phone calls are made to those enrolled to make sure they are doing well and do not require emergency assistance. If after several attempts the calls are unsuccessful, help is sent to the home to check on the well-being of the subscriber.

Senior Roll Call was started in 1995, by then, Colonel Thomas P. Gordon, and the system has helped make countless "saves" for individuals who have suffered a debilitating injury or ailment leaving them unable to help themselves. The program is supported by volunteers.

Volunteers monitor the calls made by an automated dialer and listen for distressed voices, answering machines, no answers and busy signals. Volunteers follow established procedures until contact is made with the subscriber or assistance is sent.

Volunteer hours are available from 6:30 am to 11:00 am, seven days a week at the New Castle County Public Safety Building located at 3601 N. DuPont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720. A back ground check is required. There is no physical labor required, just patience and a good ear.

If you think this could be a good fit for you, please contact Jana Matthews at (302)395-8159.
