Ideal candidates will have commitment, savvy diplomatic skills, integrity, and a passion for improving the lives of people affected by Lyme and tick borne illness.
PEER COUNSELORTraining Provided
DUTIES:
Conduct one-on-one support meetings developing strategies and sharing resources for living well. Generate client information on LDRC intake form. Conduct assessments and provide feedback to the client, and the care partner/family. Commit to one year of service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have experienced some form of Tick-Borne Illness. Empathetic listener who motivates clients to take action. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Comfortable reading databases. Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Office and Google products. Exhibit a high degree of ethics and integrity in dealing with personal data.
A top-notch peer support counselor should be able to easily identify warning signs in clients and provide resources for effective interventions and emotional support.
Ability to research and identify new resources a plus!

- 2-4 hours per shift, all-virtual via phone, Zoom, and Google Meet. Text and email offered as optional communication at client request. Schedule is flexible and will be at client and volunteer's discretion.
- Knowledge of Lyme Disease and Tick borne illness as well as a an empathetic personality. Ability to find creative solutions and resources for difficult problems. Ability to mindfully listen to client concerns and story.
