At Make-A-Wish, we grant wishes for kids with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Greater Bay Area Chapter is headquartered in San Francisco, and covers 17 counties of Northern California, granting close to 400 wishes per year. After each wish, we collect a variety of information about the wish, including emails from parents, photos, evaluation forms, artwork, and more. The Program Department is looking for a volunteer to assist with recording and tracking this incoming collateral, as well as following up with wish families to collect additional information.

We are looking for a volunteer who can help 4 hours per week, on a regular, weekly basis. The shift must be done during our office hours - 9am-5pm M-F. We can mutually decide what shift works with your schedule (e.g. Tuesday 1-5pm, Wednesday, 9am-1pm). We also require that the volunteer be willing to agree to a minimum six-month commitment. All the office work will be done at the Make-A-Wish office in San Francisco.

Duties include:

• Processing wish family evaluations (online and hard copy) including:
  • Saving compelling collateral (photos, wish art and comments) to central server location, Raiser’s Edge database and excel spreadsheet.
  • Recording family’s willingness to stay in contact and share wish story.
• Save additional collateral from families, wish teams, program team, etc. to server.
• Save photos from MAW Volunteer Facebook page to central server.
• Track all collateral collection via excel spreadsheet and send weekly update internally to various departments within the organization to use for fundraising purposes.
• When identified, follow up with wish families for additional collateral.
