Phone counselors provide support, information and referral services to callers from 6-9 PM Monday through Friday at The Center for Youth's office, 905 Monroe Ave. Volunteers work WITH a Center counselor offering support to callers in crisis, youth looking for emergency housing, or just someone to talk to. The responsibilities for volunteers include working a 3 hour shift every other week, i.e. every other Monday evening. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old, reliable, and dependable. Volunteers must pass a NYS Central Register clearance background check. Training is provided.
