Newton at Home, a grassroots organization that provides practical services and social opportunities to enable Newton seniors to lead active, connected lives as they grow older, is seeking volunteers with experience in development and/or marketing to help the organization diversify its revenue. Building on the organization's success raising money from individual donors and in-kind contributions from local businesses, we are seeking volunteers who would be interested in 1) Developing and helping to implant a plan for business sponsorships; 2) researching and implementing ideas for one or more fundraising events; 3) Write fundraising letters and collateral. This is a great opportunity to meet and work with a dedicated and talented group of community leaders while making a difference in the lives of our members. Newton at Home is part of a vibrant, growing national village movement that is changing the way Americans grow older. You can learn more about Newton at home at http://www.newtonathome.com.

Description
Newton at Home is a member-led, volunteer-driven nonprofit that provides older adults in Newton with the information and resources to optimize choices for healthy, independent aging wherever they call home. Through programming, services, and strategic partnerships, we strive to bolster community health across Newton, promote intergenerational ties, support at-risk low-income seniors, and ease access to health-care.
We provide a variety of personalized services and programs that help combat social isolation and meet the essential daily needs of our members, including: transportation, taking out trash, small repairs around the house, grocery shopping, help with technology, friendly visits, and phone check-in calls. We also offer a rich and varied monthly schedule of programs and activities (walks, lectures, museum visits, meals, performances, and special events) that promote lifelong learning as well as member health and engagement.
