Community Caregivers provides many senior neighbors with support such as grocery shopping, transportation and check-in phone calls. We offer our services through a dedicated network of volunteers.
We match clients and volunteers in their own communities (Albany & Rensselaer Counties). As a volunteer, you can help by: giving a ride to a medical appointment, friendly phone call, or shopping for someone.
This can be once a month or every week; it’s up to you! We offer flexibility to fit your busy schedule.
We can help more people if you join us! And you will feel great knowing how a small service can make a big difference in someone's life. We arrange all the requests through the office.
We are a non-profit agency supported by community donations, and grants from The Albany County Department for Aging, the NYS Department of Health and Office for the Aging & the U.S. Administration on Aging.
There is no fee for any of our services.

We are recruiting volunteers who would like to have a rewarding experience. You can drive someone to an appointment, lend a hand to a family facing a medical crisis, grocery shop, help with light household chores, be a friendly visitor or telephone assurance caller.
You can volunteer from one hour a month to twice a week or anything in between. Our volunteers usually serve weekdays, but select opportunities are available evenings or weekends. You select the service level that's right for you and your schedule. We offer orientation, support and volunteer learning opportunities.
