We hope to give them a happy piece of an Easter tradition that is open children of all religions. We’ve come up with instead of doing "Easter Baskets" we are providing "Spring Baskets" basically the same idea. We are hoping groups or individuals will take on making or getting each child in the families an individual basket. Your group can fill the baskets with basic needs, toys, learning supplies or candy. We also welcome the store bought kind. Each basket will make a difference to a child in need. Our homeless shelters are a safe haven to the families we serve for up to 3 months and we hope to remind them of the life they are working so hard on getting back on track. We hope you consider helping them too.
To put together a basket you can do it one of two ways:
- Go to the store and buy a generic basket for either a boy or girl. (Costco has great prices)
OR
- Buy a basket, and fill it with fun things like toys, candy, books, hygiene needs, socks, learning supplies, or anything else that seems fun! Wrap it up, and put a ribbon on it.
Decide how many you’d like to do, you can do just 1 or 100, every basket is a big help towards our goal of over 3,000. Then email me your commitment number. I sign you up, and you go have fun shopping and putting everything together.
Drop of is March 26 th between 8am -2pm at 2820 East Cherry Ave in Seattle. We turn around that afternoon and have families and case managers come and get their baskets to make their day!
I appreciate your interest in doing this, and hope we meet our goal of 3,000 children’s baskets this year and THANK YOU in advance for helping us do just that!
Thank you for making a difference with the YWCA.
