NorthWest Student Exchange

Looking for individuals- stay-at-home or working moms, entrepreneurs, those active in their communities, etc. who would like to supplement their income by working, from home, with high school age foreign exchange students- finding host families, facilitating school enrollment, supervise students- maintaining monthly contact, etc. It's a wonderful and fun cultural opportunity!

Area Coordinators are paid $700 per student - divided out during the school year. Those who place four students with host families are invited to attend the national conference in New Orleans in November 2014- all expenses paid.

-Area Coordinators must be at least 25 years of age

-Must pass a criminal background check

-Must be Self-motivated, energetic individuals

-Must have basic computer/internet skills

-Must be willing to make phone calls and do group presentations.

-Training required/provided

NWSE believes international exchanges maximize intercultural understanding and motivate participants, including host families, to familiarize themselves with different cultures, thereby broadening their horizons and contributing to increased international respect and cooperation. Furthermore, by developing their intercultural understanding and ability to solve problems in a global context, student participants gain invaluable skills as they enter the world job market.

Description

NWSE places international high school students with host families and high schools in the United States for periods of one semester or one academic year. NWSE offers similar programs to US students who want to student abroad. NWSE works through area representatives (called Academic Coordinators), who recruit hosts and schools and monitor programs throughout the students' exchanges.
