Camp Adventure is a one-week sleep away camp that takes place on Shelter Island at the Quinipet Camp and Retreat Center. Every year we have a theme with over-the-top events, like personal fireworks shows, concerts and carnivals. It is completely run by volunteers, including our medical team. Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals have allowed even children who are critically ill to experience camp.
Camp Adventure is for children ages 6 - 18. Young people 17 - 18 can take part in our Leadership in Training and Counselor in Training programs, that operate year-round.
This landmark children’s oncology camp, is MoRE than a program to its members, it is what we lovingly refer to as our "Camp Family".

Mission Statement
KiDS NEED MoRE is a community dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, families and young adults coping with cancer and life-threatening illness. We create joy through retreats, conferences, learning opportunities and camping experiences.
Description
At KiDS NEED MORE we believe that fun heals. All of our programs and services are provided at no cost to our families. We are volunteer run. Most of our leadership team and staff have been directly affected by cancer or life-threatening illness. KiDS NEED MoRE is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Our funding comes from the community in private donations and grants.
Our main event, our signature week of KiDS NEED MoRE Camp Adventure, is for children coping with cancer ages 6 -16. We also have a Leadership/Counselor in Training Program for teens 17 & 18 coping with life-threatening illness. This week-long sleep away camp on Shelter Island serves approximately 150 kids each year. This is no ordinary camp. It takes nearly 120 full-time volunteer staff to make a week of pure MAGIC happen and make it SAFE! This includes our medical team. We use a state-of-the-art facility, Quinipet Retreat Center, that is handicap accessible and offers air-conditioned accommodations so we are able to best serve our campers with special needs.
From the moment the campers arrive they are met with fun and surprises. Our days are filled with swimming, arts & crafts, nature, and sports activities. Each night we have an over the top incredible event, like rock concerts, carnivals, proms, firework shows, movies and everyone's favorite - field day, when the fire department visits after a huge shaving cream fight. Our goal, to give the kids the week of a lifetime.
