Make-A-Wish(r) Greater Bay Area is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that fulfills
the wishes of children between the ages of 2-1/2 and 18 battling life-threatening
medical conditions. Make-A-Wish(r) Greater Bay Area was founded in 1984. In its
first year, a total of 27 wishes were granted. Now one of the largest chapters
nationwide, we have granted more than 8,000 wishes to date and grant more
than 400 wishes per year. The Greater Bay Area Chapter is headquartered in
Oakland, and serves 17 counties of Northern California, granting 400 wishes per
year.

Summary:
Whenever a child has a wish granted, the child receives a packet, including a tshirt,
ball cap, pin, and a folder with the itinerary for his/her wish. The itinerary is
typically a document with all the details for a travel wish (flight info, hotel info,
etc.), but could also be the details for any other type of wish.

Make-A-Wish is looking for a volunteer to assist with assembling the wish bags,
documents and itineraries. The Wish Bag & Itinerary Assistant should be a
creative person with an eye for fun, kid-friendly decorations.

We are looking for a volunteer who can help 3-4 hours per week, on a regular,
weekly basis. The shift must be done during our office hours - 9am-5pm M-F.
We can mutually decide what shift time works with your schedule (e.g. Tuesday
1-5pm, Wednesday, 9am-1pm, etc.). We also require that the volunteer be willing
to agree to a minimum six-month commitment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following:

• Wish bags - putting together bag with items, decorating folder unique to wish and completing with appropriate inserts
• Wish Itineraries - Prepping and finishing itineraries for various wish types - travel, material, etc.
• Re-supply Wish Folders by Wish Type in drawer
• Oversee Program Supply Room - alert department when running low on certain items to order
