The Salvation Army of Livingston County is looking for a friendly, energetic person to volunteer long-term in our reception area. You will be the first contact for people who are looking for information and help during a time of need, so a caring heart and a warm smile are a must. Primary responsibilities include greeting visitors, identifying reason for visit and providing accurate information about services offered, starting assistance application process with clients who have appointments, gathering and copying necessary documents from clients. You will set appointments, answer and direct phone calls, take and direct messages, perform basic filing and clerical duties and ensure that reception area is tidy. We are seeking volunteers who are interested in a minimum commitment of 2-3 days per week over a 6-month time frame. Due to the sensitive nature of our work, discretion is critical. Interested candidates will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and submit to a background check.
