Kitty Devore Rescue Network

Kitty Devore Rescue is desperately seeking new Fosters to provide temporary homes for the cats we save from the Devore Shelter in San Bernardino, California. Don't live in San Bernardino? No problem! We have fosters all over California and even a few in Arizona and Washington state. Transportation and all medical expenses are paid for by us.

JOIN THE KD FOSTERING TEAM!

Prior to the formation of KD, on average only 8 out of every 100 cats admitted to the shelter made it out alive. Thanks to the commitment and dedication of our rescue group and our amazing foster parents, we've upped the save rate considerably - but there is always room for improvement - and that's where you can help! Kitty Devore has a comprehensive fostering program - outlined in our Fostering Handbook. We also invite all our foster guardians to join us on our closed Facebook group list. This is the place where all our rescues are coordinated so you can become actively involved in the rescue process. It's also where our membership offers support, troubleshooting techniques for common issues and advice.

Kitty Devore reimburses for all standard vetting expenses and covers all medical bills when more serious conditions arise. Because we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, we receive considerable discounts on veterinary costs at numerous veterinary clinics and hospitals all around Southern California.

We also have an online storefront just for our foster guardians where they can order items like antibiotics, ear mite medication, eye ointment and other items for free or at a cost much lower than they can be found elsewhere since we buy our supplies in bulk.

All our kitties are listed on Petfinder and KD is both a Petco and Petsmart rescue partner with adoption venues at both stores at specific locations weekly. We also attend all the major Pet Expo events around Southern California so that our foster kitties can up their chances at finding the most perfect and wonderful adopters to love and care for them for the rest of their lives!

We consider our foster guardians the bridges between the hell of the shelter and the haven of the new adoptive home. Our fosters are literally the second chance they need to make it safely across the bridge.

If you are a committed, dedicated person who loves cats and wants to make a difference in the lives of kitties who would otherwise be doomed to death at the shelter, please join us! You can literally save a life!

Mission Statement

Kitty Devore Rescue Network: Rescuing, Rehabilitating and Rehoming the kitties of Devore Shelter Saving one kitty at a time No Friendly left behind!

Description

Kitty Devore Rescue is a 501 (c)(3) rescue group comprised of dedicated volunteer rescue workers devoted to the networking, rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming of the cats and kittens currently housed within Devore Shelter in the city of Muscoy in San Bernardino County, California.

Each day, we work diligently to coordinate rescue efforts designed to save the cats and kittens unfortunate enough to find themselves admitted into the Devore Shelter. Through the use of social networking, we work to gain exposure for each of them as a means of recruiting foster families who can care for them temporarily until a more permanent home can be found or adopters who will commit to providing them with the lifelong and loving home they each deserve.

Prior to the formation of KD, on average only 8 out of every 100 cats admitted to the shelter made it out alive! Thanks to the commitment and dedication of our rescue group and amazing foster parents, we've upped the save rate considerably - but there is always room for improvement - and that's where we need help!

Our rescue efforts don't end when a cat is safely liberated from the shelter. Oftentimes, it's only the beginning - but we think they're worth all the effort to ensure they have that second chance at a long, happy and well-loved life.
