Mission Statement
Habitat for Humanity of Adams & Juneau Counties is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry that builds houses in partnership with low income families and then sells the houses to those homeowner partners at no profit with a no-interest mortgage. Homeowners are selected based on need for housing, ability to repay a no-interest mortgage and willingness to partner with Habitat. Because houses are built mostly by volunteers, no-interest mortgage payments are affordable for low-income partners. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Description
Our local Habitat for Humanity affiliate has been building homes in partnership with low income families in central Wisconsin since 2002. We are a relatively small chapter and rely heavily on volunteer efforts and partnerships with suppliers. We also raise a large portion of our funds from the Mauston ReStore, which accepts donations of a wide variety of gently used and new items and sells them to the public at reduced prices. Both our ReStore and our home-building efforts would not succeed without the help of volunteers.
