In April we celebrating our volunteer Adult Literacy tutors, and we invite you to join our wonderful team! Adult Literacy volunteers tell us that their work makes them feel connected with their community and gives them a sense of belonging. For some it’s an outlet for sharing, for creativity, for meeting other people. For others it’s a vital part of their self-care practice. We provide training, materials and support for our volunteers. Are you interested? Let’s talk.
You too can meet with an adult at your local library to share your reading, writing and conversation skills. With help from you, they can improve their literacy, work toward a goal set by them, and have fun!
Weekly sessions are from 1-2 hours with some preparation time on your own.
We are especially looking for tutors at the Marina Library, which is convenient with plenty of free parking and has study rooms for you to meet with a student.
For more information AND to register for our getting started workshop, please call 831-883-7597, or email hoeffels@countyofmonterey.gov
Join us and make a deeper connection to your community!
