Gold Country Wildlife Rescue (Loomis, CA) rescues over 3,500 wildlife individuals each year thanks to a large group of dedicated volunteers. If you are looking to gain hands on experience working with wildlife then a volunteer position in our Wildlife Intake Center (WIC) maybe be a perfect match-- and, if it is, our wildlife will benefit greatly from your help.
Baby Season starts as early as February and we hit our peak in the summer, caring for hundreds of animals at any one time.
Duties at our WIC range from
- cleaning enclosures
- food prep
- feeding
- laundry
- basic housekeeping
- enclosure set ups
- ...and more depending on how much you want to learn!

Mission Statement
Gold Country Wildlife Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer organization, dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife.
Description
We are permitted through the California Department of Fish & Game, and the US Fish & Wildlife Service. We have been serving the local community for over 20 years, and do so at no charge.
Each year our trained volunteers help hundreds of injured birds and mammals return to the wild.
We receive no public funding for our work, and offer our service for free. We depend on donations, grants and fundraisers to continue our important work.
A wildlife rehabber is a unique individual that contributes his or her time and money in an effort to help injured or orphaned wild animals return to the wild, healthy and free.
