Love libraries and serving the community? Then join the West Valley Branch Library's Friends of the Library! The Friends raise money through book sales to fund programs at the West Valley Branch. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in libraries.

  • Volunteer 1 to 5 hours per week organizing and marketing in-lobby book sales
  • Assist with sorting books
  • Assist in publicizing Friends activities and book sales
  • Assist with quarterly book sales

Being a part of the Friends of the Library can be an excellent experience to build your personal resume. We are open to your suggestions for ways to assist the Friends of the West Valley Branch Library. Those interested in playing a leadership role for the Friends by becoming a member of the Friends' Board are especially encouraged to apply.

Description

Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
