You can be the positive difference in someone's life!
Hospice patients often need a friendly face to brighten their days. By listening to their life stories, playing checkers, running errands, or even sitting quietly with them and holding their hand, you can dramatically improve their moods as well as provide necessary help.
Sharing your talents can also make a positive difference! Playing an instrument, knitting, making crafts, or even using your handyman skills, are all appreciated. Also, if you enjoy celebrating birthdays and holidays, we have a place for you.
At Compassionate Care Hospice, we provide specialized care and support for our patients and their families. Volunteers play a vital role in our services. Volunteers help with office work, visiting patients, assisting with patient activities, or providing valuable "break time" for families and primary caregivers.
Compassionate Care Hospice serves patients and their caregivers throughout Northeast Ohio, including Summit, Stark, Cuyahoga, Portage, Medina and Wayne counties, and we're looking for volunteers in any of these areas. Our volunteer program is supervised by a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator who provides hospice orientation and training. A criminal background check & TB screening (paid for by Compassionate Care) are also required to participate in the volunteer program.
