We're looking for anyone interested in fixing bikes and helping others. Our experienced staff train volunteers to refurbish bikes for those who can't afford them at our warehouse (1502 Mt Vernon Ave) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-9pm. Volunteers also help at the warehouse on 1st and 3rd Saturdays and at our shops (2111 Mt Vernon Ave and 2647 N Pershing Dr) during business hours.

Our mission is to grow and empower an inclusive biking community through education and affordability. We promote bicycling as a low-cost, sustainable, and healthy mode of transportation and recreation. We reduce waste by using recycled materials and directing unusable bicycle components to a metal recycling facility.

Description

Vélocity Bicycle Cooperative is a local nonprofit that refurbishes used bicycles, selling hundreds of bikes each year for affordable prices while donating over 100 bikes a year to individuals in challenging financial circumstances. No experience is required to volunteer with us. Come on down, make new friends, mess with bikes!
