Volunteers in the exotics area clean cages, prepare diets for all animals, do dishes and laundry, and provide enrichment.
Volunteers who work with the farm animals feed and water, muck stalls, clean pastures, pull weeds, feed and water.
Working with the wolves/wolf dogs includes tossing meat, watering, cleaning enclosures, pulling weeds, and pen maintenance.
In addition, special projects may include building enclosures, groundskeeping, donation pick up, enrichment, grooming animals, sorting donated food and training animals.
The sanctuary is totally staffed by greatly appreciated volunteers!

Mission Statement
To provide life-long sanctuary to wolves, wolf dogs, and exotic animals that have been neglected, abused, abandoned or relinquished by their previous owner. To assist humane societies, animal shelters and the Michigan Department of Agriculture with the placement of wolf dogs and exotic animals. To educate the public on proper care and humane treatment of all animal species.
Description
Howling Timbers is home to a wide variety of exotic animals including a monkey, coatimundi, fox, sugar gliders, prairie dogs, and chinchillas. Resident farm animals include horses, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, chickens, and miniature donkeys. The sanctuary is totally staffed by volunteers and supported by donations.
